When generating the AI  picture, I reviewed every classmate's posts. Many felt the same overall feeling as they showed human conflict, suffering, and the resulting agony. However, even with those feelings, some had hope despite the despair; Fabian Lugo had a picture of children playing on an artillery gun. The stark contrast between the children playing and the purpose of the gun makes this picture stand out to me. Jameson Beaty featured an image of 9/11 with a man falling from one of the towers; this intenseness of seeing a person fall to their death is impactful.  It makes you pause and reflect on the circumstances to caused such a tragedy. The image Frances Arnold posted took me by surprise; without knowing the image's content, I first misunderstood. This image can be quite strange looking, as they have an American flag and kind of looks like a concentration camp, and the people on the left have their hands straight out while others are saluting. At first glance, it can be confusing in its representation, which caught me off guard when I learned it was the Boy Scouts saluting the American Flag.

A.     In what manner did you respond to the images presented by your classmates?   Emotionally? Intellectually? Spiritually? Viscerally? What were your cumulative impressions?

My cumulative impressions of my classmate's images are intellectual. After examining each picture and writing down the overall themes from each image, I thought human cruelty resonated as my reaction. I believe this intellectually because the term cruelty can be applied to each image in some regard.

B.     Do you feel more confidence in knowing what is truth for you?   Why or why not?

I think deeply about a subject, and I think my knowledge of truth has remained the same; I feel confident in my understanding of my truth. What I learned from this class is that truth can also mean something about someone else interest and passion can also be your truth – truth is not limited to factual information.

C.    Have you gained any insights regarding your personal biases that may have been hidden, masked or unnoticed? What have you specifically learned about how you view the world

Where I feel we all have personal biases based on our individual experiences, I have learned in this class that understanding other people's perspectives, regardless of whether you agree or disagree, can help you be less bias. My view of the world is with sympathy because of how much suffering there is. Also, because of how loss the people causing the suffering seemed to be, our civilization seems tragically foolish. This foolishness is causing all of the problems.
